I’m quoting from Yahoo! news, ” “This doesn’t have anything to do with Christianity,” he said in an interview with POLITICO. Rather, he says, it seeks to recognize that the Bible played an integral role in the building of the United States, including providing the basis for our freedom of religion that allows Muslims, Hindus and even atheists to vocalize their own beliefs.”

On one hand, I see what the opponents of this bill are saying, it does kind of seem like the government is endorsing a specific religion.  But honestly, that’s only what it seems like; technically they are motivated to honor Bible as part of history, not part of personal religious beliefs.  Bible really did play a great part in American History, and considering the fact that our Founding Fathers and most of the first pilgrims were of Christian faith, I see no reason why people are so afraid of this bill or even frustrated by it.  I mean, we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, even though he was a Christian missionary.  Nobody’s endorsing religion though, people are just celebrating the great guy that he was.

By the way, I wonder, if this bill passes, will Halloween be celebrated that year?

The Holy Bible is not religion… Religion is for people who do not have Relationship. True Christianity is living life the way God intended for mankind; religion or the actions of religion do not provide or promote a personal relationship with the Lord God.

Religion comes in many shapes and sizes Methodist, Baptist, Calvinism, Protostant just to name a few. A relationship with the Lord God is one on one. It is a shame that so many people do not understand this very important fact. So what is the problem with promoting the Lord God and the ability for a personto have a personal relationship with Him.

Relationship with God is just one, that’s true. But because there are many false gods, Christianity has been labeled just another religion. And because denominations are sometimes so drastically different they have been given different names too. I used those words because that’s the way people understand them, but I wholly agree with what you said, Av1.

Well said av1!We put God in a box when we restrictHim to religion. In the bible God said to Moses tell them that “I AM” sent you.God is way too huge to confine Him to anything.
